Hey everyone sorry bout this weekend, something came up and i will not be in town. The sand tournaments are cancelled. I will be teaming up with fred to help throw Bad Ass Grass. Yes that right GAV will be going grass. We will be giving out great prizes, and having alot of fun. Bad Ass Grass is a very fun, cool down from the summer, its been around for a very long time and we would love to make it bigger and strong then the year prior. So hope to see you on the court!!

Aug 16 Reverse Co-de

Hey everyone

So as your can see we changed co-ed sand to reverse co-ed sand . If you never played before here are the rules.

All play will be on a women’s height net
Men can only attack a ball that is completely above the height of the net if their feet leave the ground behind the 10-foot line .
If men attack the ball from in front of the 10-foot line, some part of the ball must be below the top of the net
No open-handed tips
Sets made to the opponent’s court, on the first or second contact, must be made with shoulders square and facing the target.
Men may only soft block - they cannot jump, the ball must come to your side, and it counts as the first contact
Serves may touch the net, as long as they continue on to the opponent’s side
Feet (kicking the ball) may legally contact the ball
General volleyball rules apply (netting, lifts, doubles etc

Sand Series

Hey everyone,

So I'd Like to thank everyone for their support and showing up this past weekend. It was another hot day, temperature reaching 101 degrees. We had a total of 8 teams show up at sneakerz. It was a great day to play and was a lot fun. Great matches all day, with some new young faces coming out and some surprises through out the day. With Adam and Ruskin coming out on top . Its coming to the end of the season for volleyball with aspen around the corner. Well NMSVA has there next torunament on Aug 15 ( same sex) and 16 ( reverse Co-de). I know what your thinking, reverse co-ed in the sand? It is true we will be doing reverse co-ed guess you'll just have to show up and play to see how it works. To sign up shoot me and email or text.

SAND VOLLEYBALL THIS WEEKEND

Hey everyone,

Well I figure after what Adam said I better start keeping up with this. First thing first the woman’s tournament was a tournament full of talent. With Amy Wong and Nicole coming out on top. The men joined in on the fun at Lucky’s and had their own little tournament. It was a very hot day hitting the 100 degree mark. The woman finished up early and the men finished up around 7 p.m. The next woman’s tournament will be at the end of the month hoping we get a bigger turnout. Our next means tournament is in the middle of august. If your don’t see your results posted on the GAV site it’s because I’m having trouble logining in. I and Wayne are working on that as we speak. We are putting together a King of the beach league and Queen of the beach league starting in Later July. You can send me an email if you are interested in playing or information. There is a Sneaker’s s and series this weekend starting at 9. Check in will be 8:30 . I also like to present ON FIRE a GAV event. This is a woman's event and will be held at lucky's. Great American Volleyball

Hey Everyone,
First id like to thank everyone for being patient with me and the website. Ive been working on the Gav site and getting everyone up there and there points going. Its 90 percent done. The store should be up soon and you rankings in the GAV system. Just go under the New Mexico part of the website and be able to see whats going on in New Mexico. We have a tournament coming up this weekend with the ladies staring at lucky's 66 . The tournament will start at 9:00 am . Check in starts at 8:30. The First AVA Indoor Tournament..

Hey Everyone we finally got a date set for the first indoor tourney of the year. Its going to be your first AVA ( Albuquerque Volleyball Association ) Tournament. Our web page will be up soon . With That you can see players and find partners for tournaments. More details to come. Anyways this is a men's sixs tournament. It will be held at West Mesa gym. Were cutting it off At 12 teams right now but May open it up for more. The cost is 120 dollars a team or 20 dollars a person. It be a round robin tournament. Cash prize depends on how many teams we get but we Are shooting for $ 500 dollar cash prize.
